Workers download the mobile app (iOS or Android) and activate lone worker mode at the start of their shift. The app tracks location via GPS, prompts automated check-ins, and provides a one-touch SOS button. The app can run in the background and works offline, syncing data when connectivity returns.
When a check-in is missed, the system sends an immediate reminder to the worker via push notification. If still not responded to within a configured grace period, an alert escalates to the supervisor with the worker's last known location and alert type. Supervisors can attempt direct contact or dispatch emergency response.
Fall detection uses advanced motion sensors and algorithms to detect sudden impacts, changes in orientation, and loss of movement patterns. The system is calibrated to minimize false alarms while ensuring genuine falls trigger alerts. Workers can cancel false alarms within a short countdown period before escalation.
Absolutely. You can create custom check-in schedules based on job type, location, risk level, or shift duration. For example, confined space workers might check in every 15 minutes, while office-based lone workers check in hourly. Schedules are configurable per worker or team.
The mobile app continues tracking and logging data locally when offline. Once connectivity returns, all data syncs automatically. For critical alerts triggered during offline periods, the app stores alerts locally and sends them immediately upon reconnection. Wearable devices with satellite connectivity provide coverage in remote areas.
SPANR offers API integration with major EHS platforms including Gensuite, Cority, Intelex, and VelocityEHS. Lone worker alerts, check-in logs, and incident reports can automatically sync to your existing safety management system. Integration typically takes 1-2 weeks depending on system complexity.
Yes. Supervisors can send text messages, voice messages, or initiate two-way voice calls directly through the dashboard to specific workers. Workers can respond via the mobile app. All communications are logged with timestamps for compliance and incident documentation.
